Description
In this study, I mapped hematite signatures in Meridiani Planum, Mars using Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) orbital data, and investigated the surface material controls on these signatures by cross-referencing Opportunity Panoramic Camera (Pancam) rover images in the same regions. Endmember mixture models for CRISM and Pancam data were also generated to help explain the hematite features in their observed spectra.
This archive contains processed CRISM/Pancam images which were used as inputs to produce the hematite signature maps, as well as mineral endmember spectra for the mixture models. The hematite maps and model results are also included in this archive, along with the code used for computing these results and for processing the input data.
