In 2024 the Curiosity Mars rover encountered a deposit of light-toned stones in Gediz Vallis, Gale crater on Mars. Subsequent analyses of these stones by the rover's Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer revealed them to be effectively pure sulfur. This repository archives the code and supporting data utilized within the manuscript, "A native sulfur deposit in Gale crater, Mars" (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adu5501) that enabled in part this conclusion.
